Most people arrive here with one of three problems: something is wrong right now, they're about to spend real money and want a second opinion first, or they want the thing built. Those need different amounts of my time, so they're priced differently.

Remote consult — $50

30-60 minutes on the phone or video, plus a written summary the same day so you're not taking notes while we talk. Send photos ahead and I'll have looked at them before we start.

This is the right first step for almost everyone. It's also the only one I can do at 7pm on a Tuesday, from anywhere, which matters if you're in Logan or Boise rather than Layton.

Troubleshooting call — $65

30 minutes, for when something is actively going wrong and waiting isn't an option. Fish gasping, siphon stuck, a smell that just started. Narrower scope, faster turnaround.

On-site consult — from $225

Available from January, across Davis and Weber counties. I test your water on site, look at siting, plumbing, freeze exposure and floor loading, and leave you with a plan. Outside the core radius add $125 — I batch those trips, so there may be a wait.

Design package — $450–650

A full plan for a system you haven't built yet: dimensioned layout, bill of materials with where to buy each item locally, pump and flow sizing, a fish stocking plan that keeps you inside Utah's rules, and a planting calendar for your actual frost dates.

Winter is the right time for this. People design in January and build in April.

Pond conversion — $950–1,400

If you already have a decorative koi or goldfish pond, you've paid for the expensive part. Adding a grow bed, a correctly sized pump and a tuned bell siphon turns it into something that grows food, without changing the fish or the look of it.
